Homeschool Easy: 4th Grade Review

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.If you are new to homeschooling or need a complete package, you’ll want to check out the 4th Grade Entire School Year Curriculum from Homeschool Easy.  This curriculum is all you need for 4th grade except if you wanted to add Bible and handwriting.  It’s all digital, all you need to do is download and print.  It is written and broken down into 8 months/32 weeks of assignments.  Each subject is in it’s own folder and within that folder, each week has a folder.  All you need to do is go into the subject you want to prep, click on the week number you are on and print those pages.  That’s the week’s worth of work for that subject.

The subjects that are included are:

  • math
  • American History
  • science (topic changes monthly)
  • chapter book reading (2 books per month with review questions)
  • vocabulary
  • spelling
  • grammar

I like that everything you need is right here.  After you open a few folders on your computer and print the week’s folder you are ready.  Most of the work is student led and would not require a lot of the parent’s attention if you wanted to set it up this way.  It would be fun to do a lot of it together.  Chapter book read alouds are always great if you have the time.  The science and history would be fun to do together also.  Siblings in similar grades could work together on these too.

I usually shy away from all in one type curriculum because I like to hand pick each thing, but I have to say, I really like how this is set up.  It makes it very easy!  I’m not sure that I will use everything in it, but I never do.  I really like the selection of chapter books and I like that there are review questions already prepared. Some books are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, Shiloh, Hank the Cow Dog, The BFG, Pippi Longstocking, A Cricket in Times Square, James and the Giant Peach and many others.

I like the math.  It’s not fancy.  It’s straight forward, learn the concept and review it.  The pages are not fancy, there’s nothing to distract the student.

I like that the science has different topics each month, except the first and second months are both about classification.  Other topics are minerals, earth changes, volcanoes and islands, earth disasters, electricity and magnets.

Overall, I think this is a great choice if you are looking for an all in one type curriculum that is worksheets based.  I think this would provide a well rounded 4th grade year. My daughter is looking forward to a more independent year using this curriculum.
