I Can Study Acts Review

My son has enjoyed his Bible study this summer using the NIV version of I Can Study Acts Alone With God Bible Study (52 week study) from Greek ‘n’ Stuff.  David is 11 years old and going into sixth grade.  He is gaining biblical knowledge at an amazing rate right now and was excited for him to try this study.  Before Easter we did an overview of the gospels. He has been studying some things about Passover then Psalms in karate and they just started working in Acts in his Wednesday Night Bible class.  This study came at a perfect time for him.  Not only did it tie right in with what he was learning, but it gave in a way to do a Bible study on his own.

This study is set up so nicely for kids to learn to study the Bible on their own.  The lessons are broken down into small bits as to not be overwhelming.  There are 52 weeks of lessons.  Each week has lessons for Monday through Saturday.  The daily assignments start out the same with prayer, then memory verse work.  There are boxes to check off when they are done.  Who doesn’t like to check off a box when a task is completed?! Then there is an in depth look at a few verses.  Here you answer a few questions on the provided lines.

It’s not been easy keeping up with consistent studies through the summer, but David has done great with working through this study amidst his busy summer camp schedule.  He has already told me he would like to continue this to the end and that he would like to pick another one of their studies if he could.

I Can Study Acts Alone with God is recommended for late elementary level and up.  This was a good fit for David (6th grade).  He enjoyed the questions being short and to the point.  We received the New International Version.  A Kings James Version is also available.

This study is in a spiral bound notebook format and has been sturdy enough for my boy to drag is from place to place and it still looks great.  This notebook is consumable so you need one for each child.  At $23.95 I think it’s a bargain for the confidence it has given my son to study the Bible on his own.  It makes my heart happy to see him learning on his own and sharing this knowledge with others.  Nothing makes a mama happier than having people come up to you and telling you that you’ve got a smart kid with correct Biblical knowledge!! I’m so proud of the growth and maturity that David has shown in the past year.  My prayer is that he continues to grow in knowledge and stature and live for God all the days of his life.

Now we need to just work on that handwriting!!! Yes, he wrote in yellow colored pencil and no, I don’t know why.

Greek ‘n’ Stuff offers other Bible studies and Greek curriculum.  Many other families on the Homeschool Review Crew had the opportunity to review this and other Bible studies and some received the Greek studies.  Click on the banner below to see what they had to say about the curriculum they tried.
