Evie (5 1/2 years old) is so excited to be big enough to “do school” like her older siblings. It’s hard being number 6 of 7!! This is a big year for her as she officially start kindergarten and can participate in scouting programs. She was super excited to use the Homeschool Membership from CTCMath. I easily set up our account and signed her in on my Kindle Fire and she got started. She thought she was one of the big kids doing school.
CTCMath is an online math program that you can use for up to 10 children. Homeschoolers receive a great discounted price, there is a one student price and a 2 or more students price. One student is $11.97 per month or $78.80 for a year. Two or more students is $15.97 or $118.80. You can begin a free trial to see if it’s a good fit for your family.
CTCMath is a full math curriculum for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. They have higher math subjects, but it is recommended as a supplement to go along with what you are already working on. This is a great online program to help strengthen the areas your student struggles in.
We started Evie on the Kindergarten level. She enjoyed counting and number matching. We were both pleased to find a button that looks like a speaker. When she clicked on it a voice would read the directions to her. It would also read the number words for her. This was a big help since she is not reading yet. She was able to work independently once I got her signed in.
Evie didn’t always finish a section each day, but when she did she would print out her finished pages. She was so excited to show her Dad what she worked on that she made her own math notebook. You can see she added staples each day that she added a page. Evie decided to put them in a red folder just in case it got too thick to staple anymore. She would show her Dad her progress each day she completed a section as soon as he got home from work.
Here is an example of one of the first lessons for Kindergarten.
Here is one a few lessons later. Note the little speaker icons. When Evie clicked on these, the words were read to her.
Here is one of the views from the parents site. I am able to see Evie’s progress and what is coming up next. I also get weekly emails with information about how Evie is doing with her math. I can choose to stop receiving those emails if I would like to just see it on the website. I did enjoy getting the emails. It reminded me to keep up with Evie’s progress.
You can find CTCMath on many social media sites:
