Flea Circus Game Review

We were so excited to be sent a game to review!!!  We received Flea Circus from R&R Games.

This is how the game is described on their website: “STEP RIGHT UP! Calling all Cats and Dogs! The Flea Circus is about to begin!  It’s a wild time under the Big Top as dogs and cats race from one show to the next. Players use their best Flea Circus acts to attract the most cats and dogs. Play your cards right and you can steal the audience away from your neighbor! But watch out for the Animal Catcher… He’ll snatch your cats and dogs away!   With all this excitement, how’s a Flea Ring Circus supposed to keep up? When all the cats and dogs are gone, whoever ends up with the most animals at their show wins the game!”

This is a card game with rubber cat and dog pieces as “spectators”!!  Super cute and colorful!  The game is packaged in a small, sturdy box.  It can be set up and played very quickly.  It’s a great game for “ok, one game then we are cleaning your room”   The game  is recommended for ages 6 and up.  David is 5 1/2 and did very well with it.  It was really neat to see him understand some of the math concepts.  The object of the game is to play your cards to get and keep the most “spectators”- scoring the most points.  Dogs are worth 2 points and cats are 1 point.  Others can use their cards to take your “spectators”.  David was introduced to the concept of counting by 2’s as we counted up the number of points he had.  He also learned to trade in 2 cats for 1 dog and had to “make change” – losing one point- putting in a dog worth 2 points and taking out a cat worth 1.  He really wanted to have a collection of either all cats or all dogs!  That was a pretty big concept for him and he did GREAT!!  Allie (12) and Maddie (17) played the game with David and I.  They enjoyed it too, especially taking my “spectators”!!!

We really enjoyed playing the game as a family.  We had a hard time at first with the directions.  We decided to just start playing the game and referred to the directions as needed.  This worked great!  The more we played the game the less we had to look at the directions!

This game is $15.95.  R&R Games is offering a 20% discount to anyone purchasing Flea Circus through the TOS Homeschool Crew reviews. Just enter the coupon code, CREW20, to receive the discount now through December 31.

Flea Circus was provided free for my review, as a member of the TOS Crew.  I also state that the opinion is my honest opinion, and I was not   reimbursed in any other way.
